Welcome to the Minnesota Afterburners RC Club 2026 season, and website!
We’re not just about jets, as the name implies. All types of rc aircraft are
welcome, including gliders. In fact, MNAB is home to the Minnesota RC
Soaring Society (MRCSS). Most nice days, you can see some really high-end
carbon fiber gliders here. There are also contests. Go to the Soaring
Contests page for dates. Check out pics from a well-attended glider contest
on page 3 of the photo gallery!
To join our club immediately, please see “Membership” page. Also visit our
Facebook Page for basic information, and visit our Facebook Group for
discussion.
Last year, we installed 12” long rebar stakes all around the runway. These
helped hold down the runway edges much better than the staples. In early
May, we rolled the runway and grass with the big concrete roller, which
hardened up the surface a lot.
Also, MNAB IS NOW AN OFFICIALLY DESIGNATED FAA FRIA (FEDERAL
RECOGNIZED IDENTIFICATION AREA). When flying in conformance with a
CBO, pilots do NOT need any remote ID equipment on their planes.
The runway and fence repair work wasn’t free. The club appreciates
anyone considering joining to enjoy the good weather we’re having and sign
up soon. Go to the bottom of the MEMBERSHIP page for a convenient
Paypal link to join. Thank you!
